Civil Air Patrol - Air Cadet Radio Exercise 2008
EXERCISE FESSENDEN 2008
July- August we are now into the third Air Cadet-Civil Air Patrol Radio Exercise.
The first ever CAP - Air Cadet HF contacts were made at Easter 2006.
Cadets from Edinburgh and South Scotland Wing located at the site of the Fessenden radio station at Machrihanish exchanged radio traffic with Civil Air Patrol Cadets at Brant Rock near Boston the site of the Fessenden radio station in the US.
The radio exercise in 2006 marked the 100th Anniversary of the first Trans Atlantic Radio Telephone Call made by Reginald Fessenden in 1906
